Rheumatology

The care of patients with rheumatological disorders consists of the treatment of diseases of the musculoskeletal system, i.e. diseases of the bones, joints, muscles, tendons and ligaments. Rheumatology rehabilitation also treats certain peripheral neurological disorders such as sciatica and, above all, all inflammatory rheumatic and autoimmune diseases.

Among the most frequent pathologies we find:

  • Arthrosis

  • Osteoporosis

  • Degenerative tendinopathies

  • Radical damage to peripheral nerves (sciatica, cruralgia, Cervico Brachial Neuralgia...).

  • Inflammatory diseases (rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis...).

The treatment of these pathologies will be holistic with, when possible, the search for the causes of the appearance of the pathology (postural imbalance, articular instability, muscular deficit, overweight, lack of activity...).

The techniques used will be :

massages

joint mobilization

stretches

tecartherapy

Orthopaedics to treat traumas

Traumatic pathologies include fractures, dislocations, sprains, tendinopathies and myo-aponeurotic lesions. They can be treated by immobilisation, preceded or not by surgery. The physiotherapist will adapt his treatment according to the surgeon's instructions. The aim is to restore or maintain the patient's functional capacities and to relieve pain and avoid complications.
Orthopaedic pathologies are deformations of the bones and joints and thus of the surrounding soft tissue.
The treatment can be conservative (e.g. wearing a corset in adolescents with mild scoliosis) or corrective (e.g. arthrodesis of the big toe in the case of hallux valgus).

After an evaluation of the deficiencies caused by the trauma, an adapted treatment will be proposed which will respect the healing lesion and your recovery objectives.

Examples of the most frequent reasons for consultation:

  • Temporo-mandibular joint rehabilitation

  • Rehabilitation of the rotator cuff of the shoulder with or without surgery.

  • Shoulder Dislocation Rehabilitation, Scapulo-Humeral Dislocation

  • Rehabilitation of tendinopathies: epicondyle, wrist, knee, Achilles tendon...

  • Rehabilitation of prostheses (shoulder, thumb, hip, knee...)

  • Rehabilitation of the Anterior Cruciate Ligament of the Knee (ACL)

  • Rehabilitation of sprains: shoulder, elbow, fingers, knee, ankle, foot

  • Meniscus Rehabilitation

  • Rehabilitation of the Patello-Femoral Syndrome

  • Post-fracture rehabilitation

  • Achilles Tendon Rupture Rehabilitation

  • Re-education of the Calcaneal Spur, the plantar fasciitis

  • Hallux Valgus rehabilitation
